Bricks, rocks and paved surfaces have gritty surfaces that are helpful for traction in weather and creating a hardened, solid, etched-in-stone appearance in designs and artwork. Living in a concrete jungle provides nearly unlimited options for photographs of stone, cement, and rock surface textures - driveways, roads, sidewalks, paving stones and sandpaper are all great sources for a gritty feel.

A unique characteristic about Ragdoll cats, when compared to other breeds, is how they will lay down and stretch out flat on their back for attention or to relax.  The one pictured here loves yarn, feather toys, and sometimes playing with tennis balls. He lives in his own world for the most part, but when he seeks attention, a purring puff ball can be difficult to resist.

Trail Boardwalks

A fun element to hiking new trails beyond seeing nature up close is encountering stretches of wooden boardwalks leading across marshy land and over water or small valleys. Perhaps part of the interest in seeing trail boardwalks is the irony, that trees in the area were cleared and replaced with repetitive patterned pathways made of wood. While boardwalks might represent the piece of forest replaced by forest parts for human travel, they nevertheless lead explorers further into the trek by enticing hikers with unknowns ahead.
