Foggy Shorelines

Image
Eerie mist enveloping water shorelines effectively creates a spooky and sometimes strange way of looking at nature, covered in dense fog. Horizons vanish, distant land becomes a faded version of itself, and reflections in the water may become as clear as the originating source. Timing is a major factor, since foggy conditions are are dependent on changing weather patterns, which can make photography of the somewhat elusive subject tricky to time while traveling.

Midway Geyser Basin

Image
Three predominate features of the Midway Geyser Basin at Yellowstone National Park are the Excelsior Geyser, Grand Prismatic Spring, and Turquoise Pool, each exhibiting captivating deep blue steam pools. Images of the natural wonder here were captured during a brief park drive-through which inspired future trips to Yellowstone to spend more time and view geysers under varying conditions; daytime temperature contributed to fair amounts of steam rising of Excelsior and the Grand Prismatic spring.

Florida Atlantic Shores

Image
Ocean waters on the Atlantic in Jacksonville and Cocoa Beach, Florida, only hint at a vast body of water beyond the horizon. Likewise, beach shorelines extend for miles in either direction and seem to disappear with the ocean, into the sky above. Visiting the ocean gives a sense of wonder and a feeling of nature's raw power to hear mile-long waves crashing on the beach.
